Bibliodrama, Theatre & Creative Writing Workshops

Having taught Jewish text for a number of years, I began to explore the interface between Judaism and creative methods. I discovered Bibliodrama, a wonderful technique that  I have been privileged to take all over the world and train teachers to use.

In the Bar-Ilan MA in Creative Writing, I deepened my understandings of  possible connections between Jewish text and creative writing.

I have also appeared in a number of educational plays, and believe in theatre as an educational tool.

BIBLIODRAMA

*(2007)  Teacher, Creative Connections to Judaism, SIACH programme

* (2002-present)

Bibliodrama workshops and teacher trainings in Israel, UK, US at Pardes, UJS, Yakar, Ta Shma, Dallas, Houston, NJ, Monsey, Memphis, LSJS, CAJE, SAJES and Bet Yosef synagogue; and recently (2006) in Australia - at Limmud Oz, Sydney Jewish Writer's Festival, Shalom Institute Mosaic Course and Synagogues, schools and private homes in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. See also my Bibliodrama-performance "After Eden" recently showcased on Australian National Radio "The Spirit of Things"

Bibliodrama is a powerful experiential technique developed by Dr Peter Pitzele of the US. Despite its name, Bibliodrama does not involve acting. Instead, it is an impressive technique that draws the participants gently into a direct engagement with the text and leads to fascinating, even startling results. Participants become insightful commentators, creating together a form of "Modern Midrash."
